「 Character 」
Name: Mammon
Canon: Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
Canon Point: Post-canon
Age: Unknown - Looks to be a short person in their mid-20s (they were an adult pre-curse, were a toddler for more than eight years because of that curse, and coming in game will revert them to pre-curse conditions)

Background
Here. As a note, I will be bringing in Mammon as nonbinary. As you can see from this link, pronouns change every other sentence sometimes, and I have seen them as referred to with she/her over the years. I don't believe canon ever is definitive on this

Personality
"Mammon", by definition in the dictionary and Bible alike, is a selfish and materialistic greed so severe that, in some tales, it is even the name of an actual demon. In another universe, that name has been taken by an illusionist of some skill instead. It is not a name taken in ignorance, however. Rather, the connotation is no doubt on purpose and worn with pride. Mammon's greed is that which they chase after all else, selling their services for obscene prices. The fuller their bank account, the more they're satisfied in life. Not even their coworkers are safe, with Mammon charging them to even watch battles they might participate in. If the illusionist can make cash off of their actions, then they're sure to aim for it.

Such overwhelming avarice doesn't seem like it would allow for comfortable bedfellows of any kind. Yet in contrary to such an assumption, Mammon seems to have some talent in dealing with people well enough to put themself into a favorable light. This is shown best with their position in the Varia. Every one of the other six members seems to have a contentious relationship with at least one other member, if they're not antagonizing the whole rest of the group. In contrast, Mammon is seen as fairly reliable and high up on the ladder, put on the same level as the second-in-comand Superbi Squalo. While Bel seems to enjoy bothering them, there's no frustration or malice in it. Three of their four coworker even tackle their boss for Mammon's sake, showing they've made quite an impression. This is perhaps also tied into their greed- business is done with other people after all.

No, it's not their greed which is one of Mammon's flaws. Rather, it's a pair of different sins entirely. Mammon can put up with a lot, which is good considering the people they work with... but their pride as an illusionist is second to none, although for good reason. In fact, they have pride in a lot of things. Should that pride be wounded? Then Mammon can hold a grudge spanning decades, no matter how sleight the insult, and which can blind them. It doesn't matter if it was only a simple matter of thinking they should get out of their room more and not hoard so much money. They can and will find a way to twist that into an insult against their craft.

Perhaps it's for good reason that they bristle at such insinuations. Mammon was once known as the world's greatest illusionist, but that's not their only talent. Perhaps the driving trait behind their ability as an illusionist is their voracious curiosity and intelligence. Mammon has created dangerously unique techniques, crafted items not thought possible, and has shown an indepth knowledge of all sorts of things. While highly bitter of some of the turns their life has taken, Mammon hasn't let any of it stop their studies into Dying Will Flames, illusions, and many other things which lend well to their craft.

Perhaps that's what makes them such a powerful illusionist. In the world of KHR, will is power... even if some might mistake that as stubbornness.

Powers
- Mist Flames: "Flames" are the shonen power system in KHR, with each type having a different specialty. Mist Flames have the attribute of "construction" and more spiritual/mental matters, which is most normally attributed with illusions. Basic level Mist abilities tend to focus on illusions, which can affect people like the real thing but only if they "believe" in them. They can be ignored if not. "Real illusions" are an advanced technique, where the "construction" aspect is applied to the real world instead of just affecting an opponent's mind. However, the more complex and advanced a technique, the more power is required to use it successfully. Some techniques Mammon couldn't used while cursed into a smaller body with less Mist Flames they could access.

Some of these techniques can be pretty invasive. However, anything beyond simple illusions will be discussed with any other player characters Mammon threads with, so make sure I don't overstep any boundaries.

On a purely illusion note ("real" or otherwise), while they can be overwhelmingly powerful, they do have some weaknesses. Mammon is restricted by what they can see outside/beyond the illusion. The effects of basic illusions can be ignored through mental strength or focus (although they can still 'hide' things in them that are definitely real). "Real" illusions are affected by things that affect the genuine article (ex. ice melting from fire). All illusions can be blasted through with a powerful enough magic/shonen power/etc (although this also depends on the strength of the illusionist.) Taking out the illusionist dispels the illusions.

- Fantasma: Canon doesn't go indepth into this, so some of this is pure bullshitting, I apologize. However, each of the Arcobaleno have their own companion animal that has no explanation behind them but only shows up after they're cursed. (Theory I'm working with: created from their Flames SOMEHOW i am so sorry about this canon.) Fantasma in particular is unique: while she takes the average appearance of a large fat frog, she can transform into a golden long lizard which forms a floating ouroboros halo over Mammon's head which seems to give them a boost of power. (Additional theory: frog form passively absorbs Flames from Mammon to store for later, lizard form actively works as battery.)

- Assassination (and other crimes): As a professional assassin, Mammon is skilled in how to make people dead without getting blamed for it, sometimes with a message attached. Along with this skillet comes many others, such as fraud, theft, and a good knowledge of the underworld. As an illusionist, they prefer to kill in the way they know best, but they have a basic knowledge of other ways of murder (knife, gun, poison, etc). It just might take a little bit of relearning their own body before they can get used to the more physical methods.

- Medical/Biology Knowledge: Mammon has enough knowledge that it's implied they experimented on Fantasma to get her to her current state, and it's outright shown that they're able to replicate a fully functioning heart when their coworker gets his stabbed out of his body to thus keep him alive. Thus, Mammon can be assumed to be extremely knowledgeable about various aspects of nature and medical shit.

- Multilingual: It's required in the Varia to know at least 7 languages before joining. As both an Officer and also the technical oldest in the current group, Mammon likely knows more. It's canon that they know Italian, English, and Japanese. I've headcanoned that they also know Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Mapudungun, Hindi, Arabic, and Russian.

Items
- Varia Uniform: A handy dandy slick looking uniform that can withstand all sorts of weather and blood!

- Arcobaleno Pacifier: A purple pacifier made out of who-knows-fucking-what that no longer affects Mammon. Used to be a remanent and reminder of the curse.

- Varia Ring: A specially made quality Ring, which allows Mist Flames to flow through it. Useless to the illusionist unless a Box arrives.

- Wallet: A weather proof wallet with Euros in it, which sure would be useful if they were in Italy.

- Mammon Chains: Unique chains made by Mammon themself that can bind and "hide" Flames, or thing which help produce them (mainly Rings and their pacifier in canon). Possibly useful against other magic items? Cross-canon shenanigans will tell. (aka i'll ask if it comes up.)

「 Game Info 」
Job Placement
In no particular order...

1. Interpersonal Skills: As stated in their personality section, Mammon is very good at dealing with people, no matter how difficult they might become. So long as it doesn't set off their pride, they can work with most people, and find ways to please them whatever the business might be.

2. Spying: As expected of an illusionist, Mammon is very good at hiding even in plain sight, and can narrow in on what information is important and what isn't. Relatedly...

3. Assassination: They're skilled at connecting the subtlety that comes with spying with the violence that comes with murder. Not surprising, considering that they canonly work for one of the most notorious assassination groups in the world.

4. Money handling: When you name yourself after a demon of greed, you make sure to sharpen the math skills that come with utilizing such a negative trait to the fullest. Mammon has a frankly astonishing amount of cash in canon, and knows how to squeeze blood out of a stone... or gold out of a heart.

5. Biology and Medicine: Mammon spent at least a decade trying to break a curse which was tied into their "life force", so to speak. This has meant a lot of study towards biology and the strangeness that comes with it... which has made them more than equipped for medical matters, although it rarely comes up.

6. Illusions: Whatever Mammon might not physically be able to do, they can sure bullshit well enough, and they're good at bullshitting without letting people know they're bullshitting. Illusionists can be flashy (in fact, almost every single one in canon is a dramatic fuck), but Mammon recognizes the value of when to hold their cards close to their chest. In other words, they can use their illusions in subtle ways to make up for an area they're lacking in or enhance something they're not.

Yes

Faction Placement
South, East, North, West

note: I'm actually super intrigued by all of the factions and Mammon is the kind of character who could adjust to all of them fairly well, so feel free to put me into whatever faction has the least amount of people if you'd like to keep things balanced. I'm cool with it.

Does your character have any connection to a 'real life' supernatural entity or mythological figure?
Despite their name being taken from a demon of greed and Mist Flames canonly being conflated with "psychic powers", Mammon isn't connected to anything.

Is your character willing and able to engage in sexual acts, with or without the use of aphro?
Yes
