Warnings: Mammon has little morals and was a professional assassin for the Italian Mafia. So murder and torture are things they'd bring up casually enough in the right company, but I can easily avoid them and other horrible crime things if you just ask.
Requested Warnings: If we start talking about noncon stuff, whether just in reference or otherwise, give me a heads up. I can handle it but I don't want to be blindsided.

Name: Mammon
Canon: Katekyo Hitman Reborn!

Age: Unknown - Looks to be a short person in their mid-20s (they were an adult pre-curse, were a toddler for more than eight years because of that curse, and coming in game will revert them to pre-curse conditions)

Background
Here. As a note, I will be bringing in Mammon as nonbinary. As you can see from this link, pronouns change every other sentence sometimes, and I have seen them as referred to with she/her over the years. I don't believe canon ever is definitive on this

Personality
"Mammon", by definition in the dictionary and Bible alike, is a selfish and materialistic greed so severe that, in some tales, it is even the name of an actual demon. In another universe, that name has been taken by an illusionist of some skill instead. It is not a name taken in ignorance, however. Rather, the connotation is no doubt on purpose and worn with pride. Mammon's greed is that which they chase after all else, selling their services for obscene prices. The fuller their bank account, the more they're satisfied in life. Not even their coworkers are safe, with Mammon charging them to even watch battles they might participate in. If the illusionist can make cash off of their actions, then they're sure to aim for it.

Such overwhelming avarice doesn't seem like it would allow for comfortable bedfellows of any kind. Yet in contrary to such an assumption, Mammon seems to have some talent in dealing with people well enough to put themself into a favorable light. This is shown best with their position in the Varia. Every one of the other six members seems to have a contentious relationship with at least one other member, if they're not antagonizing the whole rest of the group. In contrast, Mammon is seen as fairly reliable and high up on the ladder, put on the same level as the second-in-comand Superbi Squalo. While Bel seems to enjoy bothering them, there's no frustration or malice in it. Three of their four coworker even tackle their boss for Mammon's sake, showing they've made quite an impression. This is perhaps also tied into their greed- business is done with other people after all.

No, it's not their greed which is one of Mammon's flaws. Rather, it's a pair of different sins entirely. Mammon can put up with a lot, which is good considering the people they work with... but their pride as an illusionist is second to none, although for good reason. In fact, they have pride in a lot of things. Should that pride be wounded? Then Mammon can hold a grudge spanning decades, no matter how sleight the insult, and which can blind them. It doesn't matter if it was only a simple matter of thinking they should get out of their room more and not hoard so much money. They can and will find a way to twist that into an insult against their craft.

Perhaps it's for good reason that they bristle at such insinuations. Mammon was once known as the world's greatest illusionist, but that's not their only talent. Perhaps the driving trait behind their ability as an illusionist is their voracious curiosity and intelligence. Mammon has created dangerously unique techniques, crafted items not thought possible, and has shown an indepth knowledge of all sorts of things. While highly bitter of some of the turns their life has taken, Mammon hasn't let any of it stop their studies into Dying Will Flames, illusions, and many other things which lend well to their craft.

Perhaps that's what makes them such a powerful illusionist. In the world of KHR, will is power... even if some might mistake that as stubbornness.

Powers
- Mist Flames: "Flames" are the shonen power system in KHR, with each type having a different specialty. Mist Flames have the attribute of "construction" and more spiritual/mental matters, which is most normally attributed with illusions. Basic level Mist abilities tend to focus on illusions, which can affect people like the real thing but only if they "believe" in them. They can be ignored if not. "Real illusions" are an advanced technique, where the "construction" aspect is applied to the real world instead of just affecting an opponent's mind. However, the more complex and advanced a technique, the more power is required to use it successfully. Some techniques Mammon couldn't used while cursed into a smaller body with less Mist Flames they could access.

Some of these techniques can be pretty invasive. However, anything beyond simple illusions will be discussed with any other player characters Mammon threads with, so make sure I don't overstep any boundaries.

On a purely illusion note ("real" or otherwise), while they can be overwhelmingly powerful, they do have some weaknesses. Mammon is restricted by what they can see outside/beyond the illusion. The effects of basic illusions can be ignored through mental strength or focus (although they can still 'hide' things in them that are definitely real). "Real" illusions are affected by things that affect the genuine article (ex. ice melting from fire). All illusions can be blasted through with a powerful enough magic/shonen power/etc (although this also depends on the strength of the illusionist.) Taking out the illusionist dispels the illusions.

- Fantasma: Canon doesn't go indepth into this, so some of this is pure bullshitting, I apologize. However, each of the Arcobaleno have their own companion animal that has no explanation behind them but only shows up after they're cursed. (Theory I'm working with: created from their Flames SOMEHOW i am so sorry about this canon.) Fantasma in particular is unique: while she takes the average appearance of a large fat frog, she can transform into a golden long lizard which forms a floating ouroboros halo over Mammon's head which seems to give them a boost of power. (Additional theory: frog form passively absorbs Flames from Mammon to store for later, lizard form actively works as battery.)

- Assassination (and other crimes): As a professional assassin, Mammon is skilled in how to make people dead without getting blamed for it, sometimes with a message attached. Along with this skillet comes many others, such as fraud, theft, and a good knowledge of the underworld. As an illusionist, they prefer to kill in the way they know best, but they have a basic knowledge of other ways of murder (knife, gun, poison, etc). It just might take a little bit of relearning their own body before they can get used to the more physical methods.

- Medical/Biology Knowledge: Mammon has enough knowledge that it's implied they experimented on Fantasma to get her to her current state, and it's outright shown that they're able to replicate a fully functioning heart when their coworker gets his stabbed out of his body to thus keep him alive. Thus, Mammon can be assumed to be extremely knowledgeable about various aspects of nature and medical shit.

- Multilingual: It's required in the Varia to know at least 7 languages before joining. As both an Officer and also the technical oldest in the current group, Mammon likely knows more. It's canon that they know Italian, English, and Japanese. I've headcanoned that they also know Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Mapudungun, Hindi, Arabic, and Russian.

Items
- Varia Uniform: A handy dandy slick looking uniform that can withstand all sorts of weather and blood!

- Arcobaleno Pacifier: A purple pacifier made out of who-knows-fucking-what that no longer affects Mammon. Used to be a remanent and reminder of the curse.

- Varia Ring: A specially made quality Ring, which allows Mist Flames to flow through it. Useless to the illusionist unless a Box arrives.

- Wallet: A weather proof wallet with Euros in it, which sure would be useful if they were in Italy.

- Mammon Chains: Unique chains made by Mammon themself that can bind and "hide" Flames, or thing which help produce them (mainly Rings and their pacifier in canon). Possibly useful against other magic items? Cross-canon shenanigans will tell. (aka i'll ask if it comes up.)

Job Placement
In no particular order...

1. Interpersonal Skills: As stated in their personality section, Mammon is very good at dealing with people, no matter how difficult they might become. So long as it doesn't set off their pride, they can work with most people, and find ways to please them whatever the business might be.

2. Spying: As expected of an illusionist, Mammon is very good at hiding even in plain sight, and can narrow in on what information is important and what isn't. Relatedly...

3. Assassination: They're skilled at connecting the subtlety that comes with spying with the violence that comes with murder. Not surprising, considering that they canonly work for one of the most notorious assassination groups in the world.

4. Money handling: When you name yourself after a demon of greed, you make sure to sharpen the math skills that come with utilizing such a negative trait to the fullest. Mammon has a frankly astonishing amount of cash in canon, and knows how to squeeze blood out of a stone... or gold out of a heart.

5. Biology and Medicine: Mammon spent at least a decade trying to break a curse which was tied into their "life force", so to speak. This has meant a lot of study towards biology and the strangeness that comes with it... which has made them more than equipped for medical matters, although it rarely comes up.

6. Illusions: Whatever Mammon might not physically be able to do, they can sure bullshit well enough, and they're good at bullshitting without letting people know they're bullshitting. Illusionists can be flashy (in fact, almost every single one in canon is a dramatic fuck), but Mammon recognizes the value of when to hold their cards close to their chest. In other words, they can use their illusions in subtle ways to make up for an area they're lacking in or enhance something they're not.

Faction Placement
South, East, North, West

note: I'm actually super intrigued by all of the factions and Mammon is the kind of character who could adjust to all of them fairly well, so feel free to put me into whatever faction has the least amount of people if you'd like to keep things balanced. I'm cool with it.

Does your character have any connection to a 'real life' supernatural entity or mythological figure?
Despite their name being taken from a demon of greed and Mist Flames canonly being conflated with "psychic powers", Mammon isn't connected to anything.

Is your character willing and able to engage in sexual acts, with or without the use of aphro?
Yes

☆CHARACTER
Character Name: Mammon
Age: 30s-40s
Species: Human
Canon: Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
Canon Point: Arrival in Japan for the Representative Battles
Character Info: The Phantom Arcobaleno
Personality:
(A quick note- you'll notice in the wiki link pronouns for Mammon bounce between "he/him" and "they/their". Go onto a fanfic site like FF.Net or AO3, and you'll probably see "she/her". Mammon is canonly nonbinary, but there is no universally used pronouns in fandom. I personally will be utilizing "they/their".)

You could probably sum up Mammon rather succinctly with: they named themself after a demon of greed and one time rather apathetically watched their coworker brutally beat and electrocute an actual small child.

All of the Varia, the mafia assassination group Mammon is a part of, have a theme connecting them to one of the seven deadly sins. Mammon, obviously, is connected to greed. This is incredibly fitting on multiple levels. In a flashback, set possibly decades before any of the events in canon, they're shown to be counting their cash instead of even bothering to socialize with any of the people they're supposed to work with. When they make jokes, it's about "charging fees" for staring at them, or how they'll sell their opponent to a circus. Only the most dire of circumstances get them to do anything without being paid for it.

With such a focus in life, their morals aren't exactly the cleanest set. They work with the mafia in one of the most feared assassination groups in the underworld, and they have no scruples about killing people in often horrible ways. It should be noted, however, that unlike the vast majority of their coworkers, Mammon isn't malicious in their work. They don't take any particular sadistic joy in it, or at least it's not shown. If anything, the illusionist is apathetic. They do what they have to do because that's what they're getting paid to do. There are exceptions, of course. Mammon is incredibly petty, blows things out of proportion, and holds grudges forever. There's no better example than when they blew up at another character, claiming that he used to constantly boast about his martial arts being better than their illusions.

(He was telling them not to be too obsessed about money and to get out of their room more. Also, that happened at least eight years ago from the scene.)

Despite all these conventionally negative traits, Mammon is hinted to be a reliable and responsible member of the Varia held in high esteem by the temperamental and violent boss Xanxus. No other member besides Squalo is shown to have this short of respect, although Mammon's is more lowkey compared to the vocal and noticeable relationship between Xanxus and Squalo. So long as they're paid enough, after all, Mammon will do their work to the best of their ability. Considering that even as a baby they were still technically older than the rest of the group, it shouldn't be surprising that they do their work so well.

☆INTERSTELLAR
Chosen Powers:
Mammon is coming in with the primary mode of offense and defense- Mist Flames with the attribute of 'construction'. This flame is often used for illusions. In Katekyo Hitman Reborn, illusions come in two varieties but can affect all five senses.

30 MP is going to be used for standard illusions, which are more or less what you might expect, with something else unique to the KHR mechanics. If you think a KHR illusion is real, then it affects you like it's real. If you have the mental strength or focus to distrust and disregard possibly everything around you, then you can ignore the illusion. It's possible to be caught off-guard by way of tricks, however- suddenly making a wall appear in front of you so fast that you react automatically.

The remaining 30 MP will be to 'upgrade' their capabilities to what's called "real" illusions. They almost stop being actual illusions and are almost a sort of minor reality warp. Real illusions don't follow the "if you don't believe, it can't hurt you" rule of standard illusions. They're effectively "real" until something happens to the illusionist, whether harm or just running out of power.

Considering Mammon was able to use standard while cursed as a baby but no go on real illusions, it uses up a lot more of their energy than standard illusions.

This doesn't make them invincible by any means, because taking Mammon out takes out the illusions, and real illusions often act like what they're based off of. (Have they made ice? You can conceivably melt it.) It's also shown in the series that enough firepower can destroy illusions, the firepower of course being other Dying Will Flames but could conceivably be anything because panfandom RP.

Mammon's reach with their illusions will also no longer be as large. Plus, depending on the complexity of the illusion and if they're using standard or real, their energy can be eaten up viciously and they won't maintain the illusion for long. Ex. Mammon turning invisible would be simple and low effort. Mammon making you think the entire room is flooded and at the bottom of the ocean and you're drowning and a shark is going to eat you? It would tax them a great deal more and could potentially affect themself negatively on a physical level if they push themself too much since it is their life force they're using.

Chosen Equipment: Mammon is bringing with them the Mist Pacifier and the Varia Mist Ring, both things which help amplify a specific flame (Mist) and are of the highest quality. They are also bringing with them Fantasma, a small not-frog born from their curse. Fantasma has abilities of her own, but those will be unlocked with MP, so for now she is just a clever frog.
Relevant Skills:

- They're a highly skilled researcher, particularly in regards to Flames and Illusions but it could likely be applied to other things. (Through this, they figured out a secret behind the Vongola Rings, and created a chain which locked the power of their Pacifier.)
- As a part of the most powerful and influential criminal power in the world (the Vongola) and operating in its elite assassination squad, Mammon has a lot of knowledge regarding various criminal activities and how things are run.
- Because of their love of money, they're excellent at math.
Character Goals: To get back the two people who supply their paychecks.

Mammon's highest love in the world is money and all the things associated with it.

Gold. Silver. Gems. All lovely things to have, so long as they don't have to pay for it. It's an avaricious and selfish love, Mammon won't ever deny it, but they won't ever care, either. For a lot of people, coming in second to material wealth is a deal breaker.

Reborn, just like always, isn't most people. He doesn't expect them to be a decent person, because they're not. He doesn't expect them to do anything without getting something in return, because they won't. They're both mafia at the end of the day, after all. It's the kind of profession where you can't criticize on account of how you've probably dirtied your hands just as much and downed your own share of vice. So Reborn doesn't judge their endless greed, and he teases some of their dreadfully shitty personality but he never really condemns.

It's the kind of acceptance that they've only ever found in the Varia, where gender or age or vice doesn't matter so much as killing ability.

Although... Mammon's never put any of their coworkers on their knees in barely anything at all.

Money is Mammon's highest love, but Reborn comes in somewhere around second, and the illusionist has no problem mixing the two together. Although... Tonight, in this case, it's not strictly money.

Their eyes rake over Reborn's lean and finely toned body, appreciating every bit of him. It's an easy thing to do. He takes frustratingly good care of himself and it shows: in the seemingly effortless shine of pitch black hair swept back, in the curves of his stomach that hint of relaxed muscle all the way to that firm chest. Even how he presents himself to them is evidence. His flexibility has always been something Reborn has flaunted, whether in his professional life or personal one. For now, all he can do is spread his legs as wide as possible without doing the splits. If his hands weren't behind his back, Mammon is almost positive he'd be touching himself as an additional temptation. Baring his cock is the best he can do.

And he's still so infuriatingly smug.

Mammon lets him get away with it for the time being. The handcuffs linking his wrists aren't the typical kind of steel, but brilliant ones of gold and glittering with jewels, more like thick bracelets bound by lovely chain. Where they stand doesn't let Mammon see them clearly. They only know what the bonds look like because it was them who chose the glittering things. Mammon doesn't need the sight, however. They only need to see the effect: the tension in his shoulders from keeping his arms pulled back, and the submission he hands to them on a glorious silver platter.

Reborn could break out if he truly wanted, after all. He's clever, flexible, and ridiculously powerful. Gold isn't the strongest material either. Only something hardened by Lightning flames could have a chance.

Power trips don't usually do anything for Mammon. This, however? With Reborn?

It makes them want to make it so that he can't even walk, one way or the other. And this is only the beginning.

Their fingertips ghost against his exposed throat, and they watch as he tilts his head back in quiet satisfaction. It's perfect for the placement of the collar about his throat. Leather or lace, those are nice options, but this is a brilliant gold to match his handcuffs. Set exactly in the middle is a polished purple diamond, and flanking it inside the gold are dragonflies. Crafted so finely in the material, they seem trapped in an eternal race. It's craftsmanship at its best. When Reborn had first caught sight of it, Mammon had spotted the flattered and pleasured edge to his smile.

Following the collar are various necklaces- some delicate chains which rest against the arch of his chest, others heavier to hold alternating opals of deep purple and glimmering yellow. A few stick close to his collarbone, a contrast to the lavish chains which sensuously hang down to his taut stomach. It's already a glaringly decadent image. Mammon adores it.

Their touch lingers against his body and the jewelry alike. Seeing him this way, maybe they should have dressed up as well. Simple high waisted lace lingerie and leather boots with heels that could kill someone are nice. There's no way they couldn't be. Mammon can't fool themself with that kind of thinking, not when Reborn's gaze had taken its sweet time in sweeping over their body at first sight. It's simply plain.

Oh well. Mammon doesn't dwell on it for long. They only smirk down at their lover. Leather heels are a show all their own, and there's nothing more satisfying than pressing a stiletto heel right into Reborn's sternum. Adrenaline hums through their chest down between their legs as he falls on his back, pretty little chains a chorus as they collide against one another. A purr rumbles out from their chest at those dark eyes looking up at them. It's like looking into an abyss of desire. They want to fuck him then and there.

Patience is a troublesome virtue like that. It clashes horribly with their want for immediate gratification. The only thing that makes it worth it is the idea of how much better he'll look with even more gold on him. For a moment longer, they press their heel into his chest and his eyes flutter from the effort his lungs have to give for simple air. When they pull back, he almost seems disappointed. They grin. "Masochist," they murmur, nudging his leg with a boot. It's the first word that's been spoken since this little scene has started.

"As you well know," Reborn purrs, his eyes on them as Mammon slides anklets past his feet. His toes curl when their fingers drift upwards to brush against his thigh. With how he is, sex between them is always an all or nothing affair. Mammon's never honestly complained about it, since feeling boneless and euphoric is far from a bad thing, but this is different. It's on the far opposite of the spectrum for what Reborn prefers. They both know it won't be a regular thing, it probably won't even last this whole night, but just for now.... For the difference from their usual... Well. It's nice for now.

The last major piece, unfortunately, is a bit too risky to use for real. Mist flames will have to form it so that it's just right: a cock ring that matches all the other jewelry they've decorated their lover with, only flexible enough so that there's no danger of accidentally doing something foolish like cutting off blood circulation. They let their flames caress his body, teasing at his balls and cock before solidifying. Reborn might have the control not to squirm, but they still see the way his stomach tenses firmly before relaxing.

Making up the final touches are smaller things: earrings which slide into flesh easily, and bands which loop around his fingers. Gaudy? Probably. At the same time, it's like a representation of everything they couldn't even dream of having decades ago. Would that child from all the way back then have ever dreamed of being able to drape someone in jewelry and still have enough to not worry about poverty in a million years? Mammon's eyes drag slowly up the chains that lay against pale skin, and meet Reborn's own dark stare. Would they...

Well. It doesn't matter right now. What matters is that there's one more thing to top this whole beautiful image off. Something immaterial but more valuable than anything else.

Mist gathers up in their throat, potent and concentrated, and entwines in the sound Mammon makes. It's high and pleasant, the kind of thing that any normal person wouldn't object to if they'd heard it on the street. That's why it's the perfect kind of sound to reach in and grip a brain tight. Reborn knows what it is, of course. They told him, a good few years ago, and he's familiar with their techniques. Even after all these years, they can still see the way his muscles tense up instinctively at the presence of Mist. He never cares for illusions and their ilk. That hasn't changed even with their relationship. It shows how much Mammon has changed themself that they do their best not to take it personally.

The same could be said of Reborn. He doesn't try to purge it from his body with his own flames. He accepts it, and that kind of reaction is enough to soothe any of Mammon's edges. "What did you make the rule?" he asks, once he's eased up again. Heels clicking against the floor, they position themself with a food on either side of him and bend down to hum thoughtfully.

"Wouldn't it be more interesting to see how long it takes for you to figure out what it is?"

"That's-" The words are barely out his mouth before Reborn squeezes his eyes shut. It's a pure delight to watch his body arch and twist for a moment before he drops back to the floor. His near perfectly controlled breathing is now undone, even if only a little. Mammon takes their victories where they can. His eyes open once more, narrow slits, to stare up at their self satisfied smirk. "The attraction clause again? I'm used to that, you know."

"Are you so certain about that?" Mammon slides their hands down their body, fingers following down from their collarbone over their chest and down to dip inbetween their thighs. 'The attraction clause', as he's so charmingly put it, is a simple thing. Pain and pleasure are easily connected. Adjusting Mirage R so that it's a more arousing experience than punishing is child's play to a skilled illusionist like them. What better rule to bind it to than to activate every time he's attracted to them?

Maybe that's a little disingenuous to say... As always, Mirage R affects them too. With their focus on Reborn and the sinful amount of gold he's decorated with, however, Mammon can't imagine them getting distracted.

It wouldn't be fun if Reborn didn't make things a little difficult, obviously. There's no more aroused squirming. He keeps his eyes right on their face, smirking right back. "I think I am." It couldn't be any more a challenge.

Mammon doesn't say anything. They just turn away, making sure gets a nice view of the way their ass moves as they walk back between his legs. When they kneel, fingers sliding up his already half hard cock thanks to Mirage R, the attention switches to their lips as they wet them teasingly. "You're going to eat those words," they promise, pressing a chaste kiss to the tip of his cock. Mammon knows themself. Their body might not be particularly impressive, small as they are, but their mouth? They know that's their best quality. They know how it looks when they wrap them barely around the tip, so plush and full. Is the shudder that wracks his body from the heat of their mouth or the modified Mirage R? It doesn't matter. Either will lead to the other and start the cycle. A beautiful perfect loop of arousal.

He's the one who started this challenge, so Mammon has no qualms in pulling out every trick in the book. Illusionists always play dirty to start with. This is no different, even if it's a cock in their mouth where their tongue teases every vein and ridge. Their palms pressing down against his hips provide the perfect feedback when their eyes are closed. He can't hide his reactions that way. Oh, noise, yes, he can strangle that in his throat before it can reach Mammon's ears. The twitching of his cock and muscles that tense under their hands, that's a different story entirely. Victory for them is utterly silent, save for the hitches and gasps in Reborn's breath. That alone sends shivers down Mammon's spine.

When his arousal is stiff and throbbing against their tongue, that's when they know they've done enough for now. They tease him as they pull upwards, dragging it all out, until they remove their mouth with a lewd pop. Opening their eyes earns them the image of his stomach tensed, muscles defined and lovely beneath the glitter of gold. It's not just from pleasure, but from how he's pushed himself up so he could watch them with a faint flush spread across his skin and his own lips wet.

Perfect.

Crawling off his body, they enjoy the way they brush against the gold- warmed up now from Reborn's skin. Mammon doesn't stop until they're practically sitting on his chest. He's certainly watching this time when they slide their hands between their spread legs. Now it's choices, choices...

Do they want to fill up his mouth with a cock of their own, or put his tongue to more skilled use? In the end, Mammon doesn't change anything about themself as they pull their underwear to the side and offer up the soft folds of their sex to him.

"For all my hard work, I think it's time you returned the favor."
